The Vow

Channing Tatum, who is named Leo in the movie and Rachel McAdams who is named Paige are newly-wed couples. Not long enough, they met a car accident which left Paige unconscious and upon waking up, she could not remember things she did and memories she shared with Leo and even Leo himself. He parents came and visited her since it was already long enough when they last saw their daughter. On the other note, Leo wanted to take her home but her parents insisted instead that Paige would stay with them instead. Paige can still remember bits and pieces of memories she had with the people she met and got into right before Leo. It came to a point she cut off her contact with her parents and she even wondered why that instance happened. Paige as well ran into her ex-boyfriend and tried to figure out why they broke up. She even tries to build a rapport with his ex-boyfriend since he was the last person Paige remembered she had an affair with. But then, Leo still tried to win her heart by courting her again and from there will start another chapter of their lives.

The movie was inspired by true to life events. As a viewer of this movie, what really caught my attention is the cinematography of the movie. There was smooth flow in the transition of scenes. The part where Paige forgot almost everything, how the director put into scenes the memories Paige can somehow remember is very well set. The message really struck me because though it was deep to ponder, the movie was able to portray it in a way that even teenagers like me can relate to it. Pathos or emotions was also used in the movie since it was really heart-breaking when Paige could not remember the memories she had with Leo, even Leo as his husband. What also caught my attention during the movie was the part when Paige tries to get back with his ex-boyfriend yet in reality she is still married with Leo. Other viewers of this movie might take the message it tries to relay in a different. They may look at Leo in a negative way since after Paige cannot remember him and the memories they had, he still took the risk to pursue her and start another beginning with her. The value which this film tries to bring is the value of loyalty. Even though there were barriers in loving Paige, Leo still tried to have her back again. He was able to keep the essence of exchanging vows with her wife. This message is being sent since in the world today, people do not actually know the significance of getting married and how to keep their vows with each other. It is a modern trend that when problems arise, they already give up and forget about their vows as husbands and wives. This movie was indeed great and very timely plus it is based on true events. A movie that is really worth-watching!
